DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE
This whimsical project is an (as of yet) unbuilt design for a guest home remodel at the home of a movie producer in Beverly Hills. The existing interior was unique in layout, but remarkably bland apart from the view. Our task was to create a surreal after-party space that from the very first step inside, felt like falling down the rabbit hole.
By adding layers to the existing structure that alter the experience of the space on a phenomenological level (reflection, refraction, and distortion) we create a space that feels like another reality.
These optical effects achieved through materiality allowed us to give each room a unique identity, and amp up an already incredible view.
